Hungary report has to be put on the agenda

On the informal meeting of heads of state or governments in Salzburg, Austria (19th-20th September, 2018) the Co-presidents of the Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament Ska Keller comments:

"After last week's historic vote on the rule of law in Hungary it's very clear that the vast majority of MEPs are willing to stand up for European values. Now it's up to the governments of European Union Member States to prove their commitment to those same values.

"At the informal summit in Salzburg they can't ignore the topic. They have to make sure that the follow up on the Hungary report is put on the agenda of the next formal summit and invite Judith Sargentini to present her report before European leaders. It's vital that all EU leaders show that they are serious about the values each country signed up for."
