CETA-Summit: Declaration adopted

In Brussels EU- representatives, mayors f. e. from Vienna, Barcelona and Grenoble, representatives from Canada also as local politcians from all over Europe meeting on a citizens-summit signed together a declaration on the contested free-trade agreement between Canada and the European Union.

The declaration demands the European Commission to Stop CETA and TTIP. They do critizise the planned regulations:

"Provisions like the Investment Court System (ICS), the Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS), and Regulatory Cooperation committees would establish parallel and unaccountable frameworks for making key regulatory decisions over areas of huge importance to our everyday lives: health and food safety, climate and the environment; local development and education; procurement and public services"
